We recently announced that we have partnered with Modula, a leading worldwide manufacturer of Vertical Lift Modules that can help our customers maximize storage and get the most of their warehouse space.
Modula Vertical Lift Modules are the ideal solution to recover space on your shop floor or distribution area while improving the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of your picking operations. Twenty years of experience and continuous research have produced a highly technical product where safety and efficiency are always the main priority.
CASE STUDY EXAMPLE: DISTRIBUTION
This case study is about the Sunny Europe distribution facility where Modula was able to help save space, increase productivity, and streamline operations. At their facility in Belgium, Sunny Europe stores inventory such as cigarettes, clothes, watches, jewelry, drinks, food, perfumes and other items that you might expect to find sold on an e-commerce website. Once in the warehouse, inventory is assigned to different sections depending on their dimensions and type. The bulky materials go to the manual pallet rack section, some of the smaller items (slow movers) go to the manual picking shelves, and the rest (i.e. small, expensive and fast-moving items) go to the Modula Lifts.
Our Vertical Lifts have 4 different size compartments, each can contain a specific quantity of certain items. Once the inventory has arrived at the lift the operator simply scans the barcode of each received item. If the item is already coded in the system the WMS software suggests which box dimension and quantity to put away.
Modula Vertical Lift Modules can help you store anything in an organized manner, and make keeping track of inventory a breeze. These units can store 154,500 lbs of gross unit load capacity and 9,050 sq.ft of traditional storage in only 150 sq. ft. Warehouses are expensive to own and operate so we want to help you make the most of your space and time. Vertical Lifts help us do just that.
In this particular case study, the outbound portion of the warehouse was where the most Modula action was seen. The outbound process was strictly linked with the Modula Lifts, which are always loaded with ready to ship inventory. With these systems in place, Sunny Europe was able to utilize 2 operators with 8 vertical lifts and they completed 3,000 order lines per day.
Here are some additional key features that made these units the perfect solution for this Distribution facility:
› 4 pick stations, each with 5 Drop-To-Light indicators
› Stock correctness
› They found 0% errors
› Low dust volume kept products clean
› Ergonomic design
